Children in underprivileged schools don’t get their eye examination either due to financial difficulties, available medical and optometry facilities or awareness. Peer 2 Peer identified several schools in impoverished areas in Sri Lanka where students never had a single eye examination. To start, we organized, facilitated eye examination for over 200 students at the BT/PD/Palugamam Kandumany Maha Vidyalayam in Thiruppalugamam. Among the 200 students who even through eye examination, 75 students required glasses. Peer 2 Peer arranged, funded and distributed prescription eye glasses to all those students on June 18, 2018.
