We visited the Mulaithivu School Zone office where students who needed glasses gathered to receive them. With help from Mr. Anbumani organizing, vision care staff conducted eye examination to over 250 students from 6 schools. They identified 129 students who needed glasses. With Mulaithivu School District Officer as chief guest, we presented glasses to nearly 30 students who attended. Due to school holidays, many students couldn’t attend the event. Instead teachers will deliver them when students return to classes in January. The school zone head and one of the principals gave speeches on the importance of glasses and P2P’s dedication towards schools in the area. I will share the videos separately as they are large. We could see students and parents’ gratitude from their intentions with us. Vision Cate will revisit these schools in 6 six months for reexamination. We will continue with other schools early this year.
